Executive Coaching and Filmmaking: Using Complementary Skills
I am enjoying spending my professional time making documentary films and being an executive coach. Both are rewarding and allow for continued learning and growth and close work with others. This comes after years of leading private independent schools and working at the World Bank with international education projects as well as supporting leadership development and organizational effectiveness within the World Bank Group. I am grateful for the mentorship and guidance I have had embarking on these new endeavors as I transfer knowledge and perspective from my earlier work. New endeavors are invigorating knowing my own growth continues. When I tell people about what I am doing now, they are intrigued and try to make a connection between the two or how my years working in education contribute to both. I often hear as well some career shift they would like to make. In this piece, I reflect on my two current roles.
